FRANKIE’S FAVOURITE EATERIES

The Mallard Lounge at the Fairmont Chateau

So, last week I was lucky to be in Whistler for presidents day weekend or what we call Family day in Canada. While I had some awesome dinners. I can describe those two restaurants another time, I have to say that my favourite experience was in the Mallard Lounge at the chateau fairmont.

In my opinion it is the perfect spot for an apres cocktail and even nachos with cheese. The room has gorgeous wood paneling and the coziest feel on the mountain.

After dinner, we went there for a few negronis and bumped into a great couple at the bar and chatted the night away.

If your plan is to be in Whistler soon, I would not miss this room.

TECH SPOTLIGHT

Are you an impulse shopper or do you just love technology? Well here we present to you the Tidbyt! Well, imagine having a digital pet from the '90s, but instead of Tamagotchis, it's your personal assistant with an attitude straight out of a sitcom. This little gem may not cook your breakfast or walk your dog, but it will deliver all the vital info you need with a side of quirky charm. Who needs a high-tech, high-maintenance device when you can have a Tidbyt—your trusty sidekick with a personality as endearing as a loyal but slightly sassy sidekick in a buddy cop movie?

And let's be real, owning a Tidbyt isn't just about practicality—it's about embracing the absurdity of life in the digital age. Why settle for a sleek, soulless screen when you can have a conversation starter that looks like it time-traveled from the past to save you from the chaos of modern tech overload? So go ahead, add a dash of whimsy to your home decor and let Tidbyt be the quirky companion you never knew you needed. After all, who wouldn't want a little dose of humor and nostalgia in their daily routine?

REAL ESTATE SPOTLIGHT

The Well

Suite 1107 ~ $945,000

Suit PH1 ~ $1,890,000

Step into The Well, where modern luxury meets the occasional misadventure. With its soaring views and contemporary finishes, this building is like the James Bond of real estate—sleek, stylish, and occasionally finding itself in an unexpected pickle. Designed to meld leading-edge features with comfort and convenience, it's the place where even the most ordinary day can turn into an adventure worthy of a blockbuster movie.

Nestled in the heart of King West, The Well is like the cool kid at the party who knows everyone and everything. Bordering Front, Spadina, and Wellington, it's surrounded by a diverse mix of characters and amenities. From driven professionals to cultural explorers to the curious newcomers who stumble upon its doorstep, The Well embraces them all, offering a unique blend of old-world charm and modern-day pizzazz.

Forget about needing a car when you live at The Well—it's a walker's paradise, where the only wheels you need are the ones on your feet. With the Spadina and King streetcar stops just minutes away, getting around is as easy as pie (or at least, easier than parallel parking on a busy downtown street). So whether you're strolling to a nearby café or embarking on a quest to conquer the city, The Well ensures that every step of the journey is filled with laughter and unexpected twists.

BOOK RECO

I remember when my friend Sophia told me about “the power of now” by Eckhart Tolle 20 years ago. She talked about the ego and how silly it could be. Sophia is polish and shares some of our different ways of thinking that can be captured in the way Tolle looks at things.

I hope you enjoy this classic.
