FRANKIE’S FAVOURITE EATERIES

Union Restaurant
Union Restaurant on Ossington is a real Gem.
I had forgotten about this restaurant for years, but my wife took me there for lunch, it’s near our place so it was easy.
The food is Insane! I mean, they change up their menu from time to time but I think staples like Tartare are almost always there. I have to admit, I am a HUGE lover of tartare and I LOVE all the little condiments that go in a traditional Polish style tartare. But, if I was going to pick the top Tartare in the city. It would be here for sure.
I had a great little salad and my wife had something delicious 🤦♀️. It was a little while ago so I don’t really remember; but what I do remember was how excited I was about eating there and that gives me a great idea. I need to go back ;)… Who’s with me?
TECH SPOTLIGHT

Smart Devices in Healthcare
Embrace the next frontier of smart technology in healthcare with the advent of smart bandages. As smart devices continue to dominate the tech landscape, from toothbrushes to light bulbs, their transformative power now extends to wound care. Smart bandages integrate advanced electronics with traditional wound dressings, boasting biosensors that monitor pH levels, temperature, and infection in real-time. This innovative approach not only facilitates proactive wound management but also offers integrated electrical stimulation to promote faster wound healing. With the potential to revolutionize treatment for individuals with compromised immune systems or chronic conditions, smart bandages signify a promising convergence of technology and healthcare.

BOOK RECO

Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience
I’ve read this book for the second time and it is still fascinating. The author of the book and his colleagues have done comprehensive research on the concept of “happiness” for more than 20 years in various countries. From those innumerable types of research, they theorized this idea named “Flow”.
Flow is a unique mental state where you become fully immersed in an activity. It's characterized by intense focus, clear goals, immediate feedback, and a distorted sense of time. This enjoyable state can be experienced by anyone, from surgeons and athletes to everyday workers.
People who control their concentration can optimize their performance and find deep satisfaction in their activities. This process leads to flow, which becomes a primary source of happiness. Flow activities are autotelic – meaning they are done for their own intrinsic reward, rather than for external goals like money. By mastering your attention, you can shape your thoughts and experiences, leading to greater overall happiness.
