Do you feel like a fun night out with the family, friends or even a fun date?
FRANKIE’S FAVOURITE EATERIES

Do you feel like a fun night out with the family, friends or even a fun date?
For $30 per hour on Sundays you get a slot at Top Golf. Top Golf is a three tiered golf driving range with targets, displays, digital games, and great fun pubbie foods.
I spent at least 3 hours there last weekend and I loved it. The atmosphere is fun, the music is bumping and you're outside!
It doesn't take much to make me happy but if you're looking for something different while you're in Florida they have several of these.
Florida also has another concept around mini putt. It's like a mini putt on steroids called Popstroke with drinks, misting machines, music and all the fun mini putt challenges of the 90s but elevated to today's standards.
There are a few of these locations to check out as well. They are a little north of Miami, one in Palm beach and another in Del Ray, but they are definitely worth the drive. I've been to both and both are great.

iPhone 17 Pro Max — Orange You Glad the Battery’s Bigger?
If you’ve been eyeing the new iPhone but couldn’t quite justify the upgrade — Apple might’ve just found a way to convince you. The new iPhone 17 Pro Max isn’t about being thinner, lighter, or daintier. Nope — this one’s proudly thicker, sturdier, and rocking a bigger battery (finally!).
With a 4,823 mAh battery — or an even bigger 5,088 mAh if you go eSIM-only — you can expect longer screen time and less “low battery” panic halfway through the day. Apple also added vapor chamber cooling, faster charging, and a new anti-reflective display that shines (literally) at 3,000 nits.
Of course, the star of the show might just be the new orange finish — because if you’re going to splurge on a new iPhone, you might as well do it in style.
The camera system got an upgrade too, with 48MP sensors across all lenses and better zoom capabilities (perfect for capturing candid pet pics or, let’s be honest, your pumpkin spice latte).
While Apple didn’t roll out any major AI surprises this year, the improved performance and battery life make this release a win for creators, content lovers, and anyone who just wants their phone to keep up.
So, if you’ve been waiting for an iPhone that can actually last all day — and look good doing it — the 17 Pro Max might just be the one.

WORD OF THE WEEK
Penultimate
What It Means
Penultimate means "occurring immediately before the last one," or in other words, "next to last." A formal adjective, it is always used before the noun it modifies.

100 WEEKS OF POSITIVE MESSAGES
Frankie did 100 days of positive messages 3 years ago. He wanted to center them around mental health and positivity. We will post them each week for 100 weeks.

#42
“I was with my Dad yesterday.
As I get older I have come to realize how similar we are .
The little things we think about and our view on what is important and what is not is so similar.
We were chatting about that spot where the ocean meets the sand and I explained that have I always been fascinated with it. He laughed and said the same.
He also said that one of his hundred Chinese medicine doctors over the years has described that spot where the ocean meets the sand as the most powerful spot in the world. Apparently you can get a lot of energy from it. Who knew ?
I really believe in energy, the energy you get from the world around you, the sun, the air, the food and even the people around you.
So many of the things around you involve energy and the movement of it.
If I could give you one little tidbit for your mental health today then it would be to protect your energy, you have a lot of power in your thoughts and your feelings.
Not every situation needs a resolution. Let things flow and pass through your body and save your energy for important things.
From time to time we meet people with great energy, they don’t even have to say anything. Stick around those types of people, that energy can rub off on you.”
🧠A Weekly Dose of Psychology You Didn’t Know You Needed 🧠
Hi everyone! I’m Maya, I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Psychology (basically, I can analyze both a crime scene and your overly complicated coffee order). I’m also an incoming Master of Arts candidate in Counselling Psychology, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about how the human brain works, and why it sometimes does the exact opposite of what we want it to do.
With colder weather settling in here in Canada, it’s a good time to pay attention to your mood. We’ve talked before about how the seasons can affect our mental health, and as the days get shorter, it’s easy for that subtle seasonal blues to creep in.
Psych Fact #15: Doing small, enjoyable activities can actually help buffer against seasonal dips in mood.
Even short bursts of joy — like visiting a farm, taking a tractor ride, or just putting on a cute outfit and soaking in the scenery — give your brain positive experiences to remember. These moments can help maintain your dopamine and serotonin levels, keeping your mood more stable as daylight hours shrink.
I recently went on a little farm adventure myself. Putting on a cozy outfit and taking a tractor ride not only gave me a sense of fun and novelty but also reminded me that even small experiences can be surprisingly good for your mental health.
So as the cold sets in, don’t wait for happiness to happen. Make a point to schedule those little moments that make you smile — your brain will thank you.
Until next time,
Maya 🧠✨
MOVIES WITH ANDRE
The Naked Gun 2025
After watching the new Naked Gun with Liam Neeson, many times, I have to say that I died laughing many times.
If you like spoof comedy as I do, you will literally laugh your pants off. Think of Airplane, the old Naked Gun movies, Hot Shots etc. and you’ll understand.
Liam Neeson is usually a serious actor.
Schindler's List, and many more. So, it was so nice to see him as a comedic actor.
This movie is not meant for an Oscar, but it’s meant to leave you cracking up. Pamela Anderson steals some scenes, which is amazing. We think of her as the Baywatch Babe, but she’s super talented and really rocks this movie. As does Liam Neeson. This movie is for people who just want a nice laugh and to relax. Think of just taking a break and watching something so stupid your brain relaxes. That’s what this is.
PS: My wife has a huge crush on Liam Neeson and he’s 73. Good on him lol.
You can find it now on Amazon Prime.

CHRIS’ CORNER

Raptors Will be Good This Year
If you’re like me and you listen to podcasts and read news from across the globe, you’ll occasionally stumble upon some Toronto haters (especially in eastern towns south of the border).
Most of these Toronto haters are the types that will say the Yankees are going to destroy the Blue Jays but then won’t admit they were wrong.
They lament anything good that happens in Toronto sports and have a glass half empty view when doing previews and predictions of the season or post-season.
This has been happening lots in regard to the Toronto Raptors upcoming NBA season, which tips off on October 21. The Raptors hit the hardcourt with a road game in Atlanta on October 22 to get their campaign started.
Most projections and so-called expert opinions have them finished at best in a play-in game, at worst missing the playoffs altogether with somewhere between 36 and 40 wins. Even at the top end, that’s a losing record.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say the Raptors this year will be better than that. Much better than that. In fact, in a weakened Eastern Conference, I believe they’ll finish in the top 6.
Yep, top 6, and they’ll earn at least 45 to 48 wins. They’ll be good this year. Not yet a title contender, but a lot better than most are predicting.
Sure, I’m a homer and an eternal optimist, so naturally I’m looking at things through a positive lens.
But there are also tangible reasons the Raptors will be a good team this year.
One, they’ll have a rejuvenated and healthy Brandon Ingram, who has all-star potential when at his best.
Speaking of healthy, the Raptors had 472 man-games lost to injury last season, seventh in the league. For a very young team that was going to need all hands-on deck to stand a chance, that was a death blow.
Now, they come into the 2025-26 season with a fully healed line-up, including budding superstar Scottie Barnes. He can be both a lynchpin defensively and a huge offensive threat (though last season, the offense dipped a bit a year after being named an all-star).
The hope is that with Ingram and RJ Barrett being big time scoring threats, the floor will open a bit more for Barnes to shine and get back to his all-star season performance.
But there is more than just the core three to like. They picked up Sandro Mamukelashvili off free agency, and he’ll provide quality centre-forward depth for fan fave Jakob Poetl.
Immanuel Quickly can own a game on any given day, while AJ Lawson, Gradey Dick, Jonathan Mogbo, and a bunch of other youngsters will be a year older, a year wiser, and ready to make a serious impact.
The best thing is that with so many doubters out there, the Raps have a bunch of bulletin board material and should be extra motivated to get after it this season.
I’m saying they’ll be a joy to watch, get some solid results, finish in the playoffs and make us proud (and optimistic) again about our favourite hard-court team.
