So, Air Canada does it again! I can't complain, being stuck in the south of France could be worse.
My Dad has never been to Italy, so while we were in France I said let's head to a few small towns along the coast while visiting Monaco so you can knock Italy off the bucket list and of course try some pizza.
Wow! Let me say first off even I didn't expect this. My Dad has never been a fan of pasta or pizza, but I think his life has now changed. You see he is obsessed with freshness in a strange way and didn't quite expect what we got.
Driving through San Remo we skipped the town and drove back and ended up in Bordighera. It's a small town along the coast heading back to France. We stopped into this little restaurant with 6 tables out front on a side street. This guy walks out slowly, asks us what we want. We order a spicy pizza, the pasta with fruit de Mari and a cutlet.
I have NEVER seen my dad eat pasta like this.
The freshness on the tomatoes, the garlic, the mussels, and the pasta that was no doubt made fresh blew us ALL away. The pizza was great too (I did spend a few days in Rome on this trip and pizza was better there) and the cutlet awesome but this fresh dish with mussels, clams, tomatoes, garlic, and pasta needs to be talked about. If you're in the Monaco area and are craving some Italian. A 40-minute drive along the coast to this little gem is worth the drive.
Change it up, why not?

When Teddy Gets a Brain 🧸🤖
Move over, screens, AI-powered stuffed animals are the latest pitch for keeping kids “engaged.” Think chatbots wrapped in fuzzy plush, like Curio’s creations, Grem and Grok (no, not that Grok). The idea? Swap screen time for cuddle time with a toy that actually talks back.
Sounds sweet… until journalist Amanda Hess gave Grem a spin. Instead of feeling like she’d found an upgraded teddy bear, she worried the plush pal was acting more like a replacement parent. Yikes.
Her solution? Remove the voice box. And here’s the funny part: her kids still loved it. They played games, chatted with the voiceless toy, and (eventually) went right back to TV.
Moral of the story? Sometimes, even the smartest toys can’t outsmart good old-fashioned imagination… or Netflix.

24 Indian Road Crescent ~ $1,990,000
For people my age (45 to 55) the next few years will be remembered as the last real time when you can get a deal in real estate. Assuming you're looking for a nice little hit. I project the market will begin to move again in 2 to 3 years and have another long bull cycle.
Here is one that caught my eye, in an area I like, assuming investment is your game.

WORD OF THE WEEK
Ostentatious
What It Means
Ostentatious describes someone or something that displays wealth, knowledge, power, etc., in a way that is meant to attract attention, admiration, or envy. Things that are ostentatious tend to stand out as overly elaborate or conspicuous.
FRANKIE’S SONG OF THE WEEK
I just added this one to my playlist again. I love the old school hip hop. How about you?
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
I am a HUGE fan of Leonardo Dicaprio's, I've met his mother and father-in-Law several times but never him. After meeting his mom, I knew right away that she was the force behind him. You can feel it immediately. I've been asked by many people to do a story/film on mental health and crazy little stories I've had over the years🤦♀️. A few too many close calls. But I wouldn't do anything unless it was Leo playing me - hehe.
I hope you enjoy this article sent to me by my great friend Tito. He's so COOL! 😎 and so is Leo :)
100 WEEKS OF POSITIVE MESSAGES
Frankie did 100 days of positive messages 3 years ago. He wanted to center them around mental health and positivity. We will post them each week for 100 weeks.

#34
“If you believe the world is evil and against you then it will be, if you believe the world is good and people are good then it will be.
The truth is we all want the same things. We ALL want to be happy, smart, funny, good at sports, eat well, wealthy, drive nice things, artistic, confident, interesting, good looking and have plenty of friends.
EVERYONE wants the same things but it gets screwed up somewhere along the way.
That person that you think is mad at you or did you some harm is just looking out for themselves or their families and didn’t set out to hurt YOU. They were just protecting themselves.
If you continue to tell your kids that there is a boogieman everywhere then they will find that boogieman.
If you are sitting around scared of the world then I encourage you to turn off the news for a few weeks and stop reading the paper.
Take a look at what is actually happening around you and you will likely see a lot of good people and great deeds happening.
The news is meant to scare you, that is how they sell papers, tv commercials, products and medicines. The global crime and poverty rates are actually decreasing, that is the real truth.
Stop scaring your kids, teach them to be polite to homeless people, teach them to say thank you and teach them to always see the other side of the situation.
I have walked with people that describe their generational trauma and blame their parents for their faults. This may be true with habits that are passed down, no question.
But have you ever noticed families with 3 or 4 siblings that are all different? We can’t blame our parents for everything.
YOU are the only one who can fix your brain and your thoughts. No magic therapist or pill will do this for you. Your brain has the power to change but it is a muscle and it takes work.
It is not about blocking a negative thought from coming in, because they will come, it is about twisting it and turning it into a positive one. Making the negative thought a positive one is the trick. Make it a habit to flip your thoughts.
Don’t let someone else’s negative thinking ruin your day.
Have fun every day.”
🧠A Weekly Dose of Psychology You Didn’t Know You Needed 🧠

Hi everyone! I’m Maya, I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Psychology (basically, I can analyze both a crime scene and your overly complicated coffee order). I’m also an incoming Master of Arts candidate in Counselling Psychology, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about how the human brain works, and why it sometimes does the exact opposite of what we want it to do.
Confession: it may only be August, but I’m already excited about fall. Pumpkin patches, cozy sweaters, and of course, Halloween (arguably the most fun holiday of the year). But here’s the thing, psychology says the excitement leading up to a holiday might actually be the best part.
🧠 Psych Fact #8: Anticipation can be more satisfying than the event itself.
Research in positive psychology shows that looking forward to something can boost happiness more consistently than the experience itself. That’s because anticipation delivers little bursts of dopamine every time we think about what’s coming, whether it’s daydreaming about carving pumpkins, planning costumes, or imagining that first sip of a fall latte.
When the day finally arrives, it’s often over too quickly. But the weeks (or months) leading up to it? That’s a whole season of joy, stretched out and savored in advance.
So, if you’re the kind of person who decorates early or gets “too excited” about autumn, don’t feel silly, your brain is literally rewarding you for it.
Until next time,
Maya 🧠✨

What Hypes You Up?
A few months ago, my daughter and I were driving to her soccer game, which was a significant distance from our home, and she was having a nice little pre-game nap.
I love her car naps because I can listen to a podcast in peace. When she decided nap time was over, she sits up and starts finding music to listen to (after asking of course).
I suggest some solid hype-up music like high energy Euro beats or rock-rap collabs. Undeterred and uninterested in my suggestions, she keeps scrolling through my Spotify to find what she wants.
Eventually she finds a mix of music that she likes. Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, and others of that ilk start coming through the car speakers. And not the higher energy stuff either.
I look at her and I say, “this really isn’t hype up music honey.” She gets that steely glare in her eyes and says, “this is what hypes me up, I’m the one playing the game tonight not you.”
That was a fair point, despite the attitude behind it (hehehe).
About 15 minutes away from the field and she switches vibes to a country playlist. At least that one had some higher tempo tunes.
Again, I was confused but internalized it as to not throw off her mental preparation before the match.
That match ended up as a 1-1 tie away from home, but my daughter played excellent as both an attacking and defensive midfielder (she switches between the two depending on where coach needs her most).
I knew then that everyone’s pregame music is truly individualized and could change based on mindset, age, and needs.
In fact, she has found a new playlist that has a bit of everything she likes on it from country to hip hop, and a whole bunch of pop music – Summer Playlist.
This playlist is what I would choose on a regular basis (and my kids have some songs in there too) – Family Sports Playlist.
On that note, what’s your pregame hype-up music?
