Summer travel plans?

I was coming out of the shower at the gym and I bumped into a friend. We chatted and he mentioned he was heading to Italy and Florence was one of his stops. Now, whenever I hear Florence I stop people and say OMG! Are you staying at Le Calvane and have you been to Da Delfina? OK OK , well if you haven't... they are a must. As a side note, I was the FIRST guest of Le Calvane (they have a great wine and olive oil too BTW) and I have to say this little hotel in the Florence hills does not disappoint. It's the cutest 12ish room hotel in the Tuscan hills just 30 mins outside of Florence. Its rooms are charming and the views from the grounds are incredible, they have the most perfect infinity pool and dinners here are spectacular. For my wife especially, it's one of those places that she is never more relaxed, she sits by the pool and reads while I get a touch stir crazy. It is simply perfect for 3 to 4 days of unwind. 

Now the second place is for dinner. Da Delfina will dazzle you, excite you, calm you and inspire you all at the same time. This little restaurant high in the Tuscan hills is like something you have never seen before. It's owned by a guy who hosts you when you arrive. There are approximately 20 tables inside and maybe 30 on the patio. The views are insane but but the food? OMG OMG OMG! Do you remember the stuffed olives at Buca? I think they were inspired by this place. I mean hello perfect gnocchi city, pasta’s out of this world. Honestly I don't even know how to describe it, but if you're looking for that "in the garden with an Italian family that knows how to cook feeling" don't miss this one.

Bill Gates just gave his foundation a ticking clock — and it’s not a bug in Windows.

The billionaire philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder has announced that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will officially spend itself out of existence by 2045. That’s right: the world's largest private foundation is going out with a bang, not a whimper — with over $200 billion expected to be donated over the next 20 years.

Reflecting on personal milestones like turning 70 this October, Microsoft’s 50th anniversary, and what would’ve been his father’s 100th birthday, Gates said it felt like the right moment to set an end date. Oh, and in case you missed it: he's donating 99% of his $107 billion fortune.

Once destined to close 20 years after his passing, the Gates Foundation is now operating on a fixed timeline. And it's going big — funneling about $9 billion annually into global health, education, gender equality, and development efforts, with a major focus on low-income communities fighting diseases like malaria.

It’s the second-largest philanthropic pledge in U.S. history — trailing only Warren Buffett (his buddy in billionaire giving).

So here’s a thought for the inbox philosophers out there:
