FRANKIE’S FAVOURITE EATERIES

I'm one of those people that doesn't need to know where I'm staying before I land somewhere. I've slept in my car on the cote d'azure and enjoyed it ;). This past week I had the pleasure finding a beautiful little gem of a place for Persian food just north in the city of Toronto. 

The place is called Mr. Dizi at Steeles and Dufferin. It's a small place that specializes in stews and kebabs. Traditional Persian foods with the beautiful charcoal smells coming off the ovens and BBQs. 

I had the gourmosabze and it was amazing with the crispy rice. I know that everything else will be awesome. You can just tell.

TECH SPOTLIGHT

The future of catching a ride is pulling up to the curb — without a driver. May Mobility, a startup known for its autonomous shuttle services, is hitting the streets of Arlington, Texas, by the end of 2025 through a new partnership with Uber.

These aren’t your average Ubers — we’re talking hybrid Toyota Siennas loaded with May’s Autono-MaaS (yes, that’s Mobility-as-a-Service) tech. Riders will soon be able to select a self-driving May Mobility vehicle in the Uber app, similar to how Waymo robotaxis are already rolling in Phoenix and Austin. Atlanta, get ready — you're next in line.

For now, human safety operators will sit behind the wheel during the rollout phase (think of them as chaperones for the car). But eventually, these rides will go full robot, with the goal to expand across the U.S. and deploy thousands of AVs over the next few years.

As Uber and Lyft battle it out in the AV race, one question remains:

Would you get in a self-driving Uber? Do you think they should be cheaper… or more expensive? Let us know what you think — preferably before the robot car shows up at your door.
