Are you kidding me? I was not expecting this...
At the foot of the design district is a strip of buildings that don't get much attention. Well this restaurant needs some praise BIG TIME, not that it's not full but because it's amazing.
Talk about a fun night out.
You walk in are treated warmly while stepping into some of the nicest and sexiest decor I've seen in years. It's a huge floor plate separated by two big areas, a massive bar area where you enter and a few private dining rooms in the back.
Let's just say that a girls or guys night dinner here would be the bomb. The bar area was packed on a Thursday, we grabbed our cocktails, had some great chats and got seated in the main dining room. MUSIC!!? It's the right volume for conversations while still being able to dance in your seat. Take a guess at what they were playing? Old school LL Cool J, Arrested Development, Madonna, and even a trippy version of “Welcome to the Jungle”. This DJ or playlist is insane...
THE FOOD! The most perfect stuffed zucchini flowers I've ever had, lightly fried but not tasting heavy. A mortadella folded pizza - wow! Mushroom pizza, come on!
We tried three pastas, I'm not even going to get into them but let me tell you, it was some of the best pasta I've tried, so sorry Rome. You have some real competition.
This place is a MAJOR MAJOR wow!

23andMe and the Curious Case of Your DNA Data
Ever wondered what happens when a company with 15 million people's genetic data faces bankruptcy? Well, 23andMe is giving us a front-row seat to find out!
Once the golden child of ancestry and genetic testing, 23andMe is now in hot water after a massive data breach and financial struggles that have sent its stock price plummeting. While they’ve reassured users that their DNA data won’t be mishandled, privacy experts aren’t so sure—especially since the company isn’t covered by HIPAA regulations. And with 23andMe’s assets up for grabs in bankruptcy court, their biggest asset is the data.
So, what does this mean for you if you (or a long-lost relative) sent in a saliva sample back in the day? Privacy advocates suggest deleting your account now before any unexpected sales pitch lands your genetic blueprint in the hands of a mysterious new owner.
Moral of the story? When it comes to personal data—especially the kind written into your DNA—it’s always good to read the fine print. Or, you know, maybe just stick to family tree research the old-fashioned way!

WORD OF THE WEEK
Garble
What It Means
To garble something, such as a word, name, message, etc., is to cause it to be unclear or distorted. This type of garbling can be the result of an accident, ignorance, or a transmission error. Garble can also mean "to so alter or distort as to create a wrong impression or change the meaning."
FRANKIE’S SONG OF THE WEEK
What's your favourite Drake song?
I really like three Sicko mode and Jimmy cook and of course --- hotline bling ;)
100 WEEKS OF POSITIVE MESSAGES
Frankie did 100 days of positive messages 3 years ago. He wanted to center them around mental health and positivity. We will post them each week for 100 weeks.

#13
“If you sit there terrified that you will make a mistake, you will never move forward.
For many people the fear of making a mistake or not looking perfect holds them back.
Surprisingly this is a major issue for many people who feel that they are trapped in a life or perhaps not living that fairy tale they had in mind as children.
The truth is every relationship, friendship, and business has issues and mistakes.
I am not suggesting you don’t deal with things or confront them, this is not what I am saying but if you can let things go quicker, the better it is for everyone.
I was once told a crazy stat by my friend Marty that said 30 to 40 percent of the population is still mad at dead people 🤦♀️.
You are mad at someone who is not alive.
Mistakes are what makes life beautiful and if you go around looking for someone or something perfect, I can assure you will be looking forever.
Your mental health will improve once you believe that you don’t have to be perfect, 7 out of 10 is fine ;).
Give people the room to make mistakes.
13/100 - 1% each day.”

CHRIS’ SPORTS CORNER
NBA’s Top 10 can only have one No. 1.

Let’s get this out of the way: Lebron James is great. He is one of the all-time greatest to grace a basketball court. His longevity, brilliance and ability to maintain an exceptional level of basketball at 40-years-old is awe inspiring and legendary.
In fact, only two years ago, I didn't even have him in my top 5, but I've since moved him to number 3. This is due to my new appreciation for his individual accomplishments. I’m not a LeBron hater; I just have more affinity and admiration for the top 2 on my list.
Without going into the novel-like opinion piece I have written in the past about this topic, I’ll just get to the top 10 list and let it speak for itself. There are also a few honourable mentions after the fact.
1. Michael Jordan. The GOAT. Six NBA Finals, six titles, six Finals MVP awards, no Game 7s in the finals, a 34.2 points per game career average in closeout games, as well as a record 33.4 playoff ppg (to go along with 6.4 rebounds per game and 5.7 assists per game). He was 1-0 in the NCAA championship game, 2-0 in Olympic Gold Medal games, 2-0 in FIBA World Championship final games – all he did was win when it mattered most. He still has the most scoring titles (10), highest career regular season scoring average (30.1 ppg), is a five-time NBA MVP, 14-time all-star, three-time steals champion, as well as winning a defensive player of the year award and many, many other accolades.
2. Kobe Bryant. The Black Mamba went 5-2 in the NBA Finals. Winning three with Shaquille O’Neal and two more without him. Speaks Italian and English. The player who was most like Jordan in all aspects of his game (mentally and physically). I like to call him the Baby GOAT. Literally the one guy even the best in the game would want to take that final shot with the title on the line. Deadliness personified.
3. Lebron James. No, I’m not crazy. Lebron is the beneficiary of recency bias. Supposedly the GOAT, but only four titles in 20-plus years? He will need at least five titles to move up this list. James has managed to mar his legacy with six finals losses and several soft performances on the big stage. Still, we have to give it up and place him as close to the top as possible due to his longevity, amazing ability, overall positive accomplishments and four titles.
4. Tim Duncan. The Big Fundamental is a five-time NBA Champion and beat Lebron twice in the finals. Wasn’t flashy. Did the job and did it well. Can be considered one of the most underrated players since he’s oft forgotten by those who don’t know what they’re talking about.
5. Earvin Magic Johnson. One of the smoothest and most intelligent basketball players to ever live. He could do it all on the court and changed the way the game was played. He made Showtime a thing. Every no look pass thrown is a direct result of Magic. Plus, five titles and three Finals MVPs. And he did it when you needed to be tough to win in the playoffs.
6. Larry Bird. The greatest pure shooter of all time (sorry Stef). The man you want with the ball in his hand for the game winning shot every time (even if Michael is on court). Larry Legend won three NBA titles, two finals MVPs, and is by far the greatest trash talker of all time – and greatest Celtic of all time. Had to take on the Bad Boy Pistons and Showtime Lakers consistently (featuring a slew of Hall of Famers). Also, a nagging back injury slowed him down and cut his career short.
7. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr.) was the ultimate LA Laker. Six-time NBA champion, two-time Finals MVP, six-time regular season league MVP (a record that still stands), and a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the floor. He was in the conversation of the greatest of all time until Magic, Bird and then Jordan came around.
8. Bill Russell. It’s too bad he played so long ago, or he would get way more respect. Eleven NBA titles (including eight straight), the league MVP five times, a four-time rebounding champion, and long considered the greatest centre to ever play (even by other great centres). His career playoff averages are 16.9 ppg and an astounding 24.9 rebounds per game.
9. Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq couldn’t shoot free throws if his life (or a win) depended on it. But he was inarguably the most dominant physical force ever in the league. Four titles, three-time Finals MVPs, and all sorts of other awards and accolades. But, more than anything, Shaq was someone you didn’t want to play against.
10. Scottie Pippen. Don’t let the fact he was Robin to Jordan’s Batman fool you. Pippen was the real deal and a legit superstar even when his Airness was playing baseball. The Bulls remained a contender thanks to Pippen (and Kukoc) and still had a winning record as well as being a tough out in the playoffs. Eight times he was named to the All-NBA Defensive First Team, twice to the second team, and was no slouch on the offensive end either, averaging over 20 points per game in the playoffs during the first three titles and around 18 ppg during the last three.
Here are my honourable mentions I could easily have put on this list and who are all Top 25 players in my book: Julius "Dr. J" Irving, Isiah Thomas, Oscar Robertson, Dirk Nowitski (the best Euro of all time), Hakeem Olajuwan, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Stef Curry.
Agree? Disagree? Do I value titles too much? It’s your right to think I’m way off, but that’s the beauty of sports – we can disagree and still have fun about it!
