Miami Dining
Currently I'm in Miami for another few days and someone said to me, what are your favourite restaurants or things to do in the city? That's a tough one.
If someone is coming down and wants a BIG night I would recommend either Carbone, Milos, Cipriani or Mila.
But if I was looking for a good meal I would stick with Mandolin, Motek or Pastis (so great that it opened here).
Miami is so full of great dining and it's so hard to pick what your night should look like.
A typical Thursday or Friday night for me may look like this - I love to start at the ONE HOTEL rooftop or the Setai lobby bar, then shuffle my way down to one of the restaurants I described above and then kick down to a place like Medium Cool, Bagatelle or just head to a lobby bar like the one at THE ONE because it's near me :) and finish my night there.
Miami is one of those cities that if you like to be on the beach, you can have a great lazy day with a few appetizers, a glass of vino on the balcony and you feel like you've seen and done enough. That is the beauty of Miami, it fills your senses with just a little walk along the boardwalk.

Can AI Translate What Your Pets Are Saying?
Dog owners know the drill: you walk through the door, and your furry friend’s tail wagging, joyful jumps, and happy barks scream, “You’re home! I missed you!” But while the sentiment is clear, the finer details of their "conversation" are lost in translation.
Now, imagine stumbling across a chimpanzee in the wild. It starts making loud noises and dramatic gestures. You get the gist—it’s not thrilled you’re here—but is it warning you, questioning your presence, or just having a bad day? What if you could talk your way out of the situation like you might with a grumpy coworker?
Thanks to advancements in AI, this isn’t just a far-fetched idea anymore. Machine learning is helping scientists decode the chatter of the animal kingdom, opening the door to some seriously exciting possibilities. Here are two fascinating examples:
1. Sperm Whale “Chat” Gets a Makeover
Sperm whales are like the Morse code enthusiasts of the ocean. They use a series of clicks, called “codas,” to communicate. While we’ve known who’s clicking for some time, decoding what they’re saying has been tricky—until now.
A groundbreaking study recently used AI to sift through nearly 9,000 codas and uncover new elements, like “rubato” and “ornamentation,” which change depending on the context. Think of it as adding emotion or flair to a conversation. The result? Researchers proposed a “Sperm Whale Phonetic Alphabet” to map out these underwater chats, similar to the International Phonetic Alphabet humans use for speech.
2. Meet DeepSqueak: Google Translate for Rodents
Ever wonder what mice and rats are squeaking about? Turns out, they’re quite the chatterboxes, using ultrasonic vocalizations far above the range of human hearing. That’s where DeepSqueak comes in—a machine learning tool designed to decode their ultrasonic gossip.
DeepSqueak doesn’t just amplify these squeaks—it analyzes them, pairing sounds with behaviors and emotions. Researchers can now quickly study rodent chatter, giving insights into their social lives and even their “mood swings.” It’s like eavesdropping on a tiny rodent dinner party (but, you know, for science).
Where We’re Headed
While we’re not having full-blown conversations with our pets or wild animals just yet, the progress is undeniable. A few years ago, tools like ChatGPT were the stuff of science fiction—and now they’re part of our everyday routines. With tech evolving at lightning speed, who knows? One day, a heartfelt chat with your dog about why they really chewed up your shoes might not be so far-fetched.

“10 x 10 x 3
Not that I should be giving out working out advice 🤦♀️ but this is the workout I did that first day when I decided to get better.
I went down to the basement and did Push ups, squats, dumbbell biceps, plank (30 seconds), tricep overhead, shoulder press, sit up, back rows, calf raises, bicycle sit ups. 10 body parts x 10 reps each x 3 times. I hit every body part at a weight I could do.
Brianna was down there doing Pilates and looked 👀 over at me, she noticed something, 1% better 👍 Day 1.
Listen, I’m not saying I’m in peak physical condition ;) but this is still the workout I do 3 days per week. I have other hobbies I enjoy, plenty of them.
My biggest issues when it comes to weight are over eating and I think I metabolize alcohol mainly tequila very slowly. But, I love to party🕺🏼so I’m not sure how to change those :).
Back to 10 x 10 x 3, it’s simple, easy and can be completed within 15 to 20 mins, anybody can do it.
Not only is this good for your bones and weight but most importantly it’s great for your brain.
It is strange but by doing exercise you would think it makes you more tired but a funny thing happens when you work out, you get more energy.
So if you are in a rut, I would definitely recommend adding a little weight training to your day.
Don’t wait, just go for it🕺🏼.”

Super Bowl Party Time!
So many people are getting pumped for the upcoming Super Bowl!
I would have been more pumped if the team I cheer for made it (the Minnesota Vikings). Alas, it was not to be.
Funny enough, a lot of people don’t even know which teams are playing, but they’re still planning to gather with a group of friends to watch the game.
The fact of the matter is that the NFL’s championship game is about so much more than just the awesome play on the field.
There’s the halftime show extravaganza that’s become a must-watch show within the show. This year Kendrick Lamar is the halftime performer. I know a lot of people who only care about the musical performance and not at all about the actual game.
Others still – particularly south of the border – are enamoured with the often funny and extremely entertaining parade of Super Bowl commercials that are either premiers to launch monthlong campaigns or one-off originals made just for that day.
When a 30 second spot costs $7 million, it’s imperative to come up with something extraordinary, and often A-list celebs end up starring in the ads.
To call the Super Bowl a “huge event” would be an understatement. Last year, there was a total audience delivery of 123.4 million average viewers across all platforms.
Which gets us back to the reason for this piece, the parties!
There are the many varieties of Super Bowl parties that take place with friends and family gathering to enjoy good food, good beverages, and good laughs.
Last year, I got together with some great friends (and a cousin or two) at Golf Live in Woodbridge for the big game. In between swings, we’re watching the game, eating, drinking, and lamenting the Chiefs continued dominance over the NFL.
That was a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it.
But, there have been many other parties I’ve attended including low key family only events with homemade pub food (wings, pizza, etc.) as well as larger events at people’s homes that included a poker tournament with the Big Game as simply a backdrop to enjoy (that year the NY Giants upset the New England Patriots to ruin the perfect season for Tom Brady and friends).
Another party I went to had everyone pitch in $5 and pick a square from a board that had total number of points props. That kept a lot of people interested right until the end!
Others will gather at pubs and sports bars to enjoy the experience of being around both familiar faces and a crowd of potential new friends. Still, some will choose to only be around hardcore sports fans
Whatever way you choose to enjoy the Super Bowl this year, make sure to have fun, don’t get too serious and ensure there are plenty of munchies and beverages to go around!
Oh, and by the way, I almost forgot, this year the Super Bowl takes place February 9th in New Orleans. Kick off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Nobody Cares!
I mean this in the nicest possible way. If you're like me and you're sensitive you begin to realize only later in life how little people care. Dance, laugh, give, make jokes, work, and if someone can't understand your humour, it's not your job to clarify everything. Have the confidence to move on.
