FRANKIE’S FAVOURITE EATERIES

Buenos Aires! Have you been? Do you love steak, fresh vegetables, and dulce de leche? Well, make your way to Argentina then. 

Our trip was FULL of great meals but here is the most notable favourite. #1 Don Julio. 

I'm not great at planning in advance but lucky me, I don't need to be, my wife booked this 3 years in advance. This is a steak house all over top 100 lists and I believe it has one Michelin star. The night kicks off with a glass of champagne while you wait for your table. A little farm grown tomato is served at your table drizzled with olive oil and a little salt, along with a mini beef empanada to accompany that. 

Come on, champagne, tomato, and beef empanada before you order your wine and steak? We are in for a treat. 

So, we go ahead and order the charred green beans (the longest I've ever seen) , fries (also very big), Morcillo (blood sausage ;) my fave) and of course the rib eye steak. I mean, the simplest foods cooked to perfection, I mean, you could taste the freshness of the soil that these ingredients were grown in. 

Now comes the best part. The dulce de leche mini crepes were probably my favourite dessert of 2024. Yep, I bet you weren't expecting that!

100 DAYS OF POSITIVE MESSAGES

Frankie did 100 days of positive messages 3 years ago. He wanted to center them around mental health and positivity. We will post them each week for 100 weeks.

“After spending 4 months at CAMH @camhfoundation and then spending 1 and a half years in bed, you have a little time to think. I remember so clearly like it was yesterday when I told myself I would no longer feel like crap. I went on Instagram and wrote "Do you like to party?" which is one of my sayings. I felt one percent that day. I committed to feeling 1 percent better each day. If I told you some of the other things that hit me during those next months, I could write a book but I didn't let anything get ahead of feeling 1 percent better each day. After 100 days, I was back. I was still afraid to admit that I felt great but that's another story. I believe you can do anything you want if you commit to it. 100 days feels like a lot but it's actually very little time when you look at your life. I was speaking to an old girlfriend last night who is going through some stuff and I challenged her to do something each day for 100 days. She put me on to this challenge. So, here goes SFD sayings for 100 days. Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone - Go Philly ;)!”
