FRANKIE’S FAVOURITE EATERIES
Les Palmiers - St Tropez
So, I've been getting a lot of people asking me what my favourite spot was in St Tropez this year. Normally, we spend more time in Antibes but this year was different, we tried St Tropez and I'm a convert. It's the best!
I mean, I like to be where the action is and let me tell you, the best day party of the summer was always at Les Palmiers. It's just always felt super French and delicious. The party atmosphere after lunch was my favourite, after all the restaurants, never too crazy but always great. Some of the other spots got too lively, too crazy and it just felt like we're dying to sell bottles, I mean I get it, but it's a bit much.
The food is great and the music is off the charts cool. Les palmiers was our go to. Lou Lou was great, Bagatelle was cool, and of course Shallona was awesome, but if I was planning a one day party, great food, and that true beach club vibe in St Tropez, I would hit Les Palmiers.
TECH SPOTLIGHT
🎬 The AI Movie Era: Lights, Camera, Algorithms! 🎥
Move over, Hollywood—AI is stepping into the director's chair! This week, big players like Alibaba, Amazon, Lionsgate, and YouTube rolled out their shiny new text-to-video tools, letting users whip up mini-movies with just a few keystrokes. From steaming coffee mugs to green-screen backgrounds on YouTube Shorts, the tech has potential, but it’s still early days.
Meanwhile, OpenAI's much-hyped video generator, Sora, is still in the works, and they’re taking their time—maybe that’s a good thing! While Amazon and YouTube may have beaten them to the punch, OpenAI is aiming for quality over speed. With promises of 60-second, hyper-realistic clips on the horizon, it’s definitely one to watch. 🎬👀
Stay tuned as the AI movie era unfolds—who knows, maybe your next binge-watch will be powered by algorithms!

Listen we all know there are about 5 listing agents for the biggest billionaires in Toronto looking to list in Forest Hill and who's kidding who? In my mind, I would pick one and it would be Jordan Grossman, just take a look at a few that he has on the market. He came out with like 20 new listings this month. I mean, this guy has a following like no other... Wow!

FILM REVIEW
"No Dress Rehearsal"
Let me be honest, I was never the biggest fan of The Tragically Hip. I just never understood it. I was always more of a Glass Tiger and Blue Rodeo kind of guy. Was I ever mistaken?
These guys are A M A Z I N G and thank you to my friend Jake Gold (the hips manager) for prompting me to watch this awesome 4 part docu series that was the highlight of TIFF this year.
"No Dress Rehearsal" was incredible and I clearly missed something when I was in high school, even though I went to a real hackie sack ‘Canadiana’ kinda high school, I shoulda been a TH fan, well, I am now.
Part 1
This section describes the beginnings of the band, their relationship with Kingston and introduces the band members and their families. I really loved when the drummer described getting into a summer program at Berkeley and he said "that's what great parents do, they open doors for you" describing his parents helping him getting the drums and getting him into the college. Jake gold comes in half way through part 1. I had no idea how cool he was. JAKE! Let's have lunch soon :)
The first part solidified the fact that the hip gave you a great show each and every time they played and played every single venue in Canada. They were animals.
Part 2: "Robbie baker makes the young girls cry"...
It is time to make another record, let's leave Memphis and hit New Orleans and make one. Gord thought everything was important and understood that one member of the band can't be driving a rolls Royce and the other be driving a 10 speed bike. "38 years old, never kissed a girl", if you're not from Canada, you begin to realize that these guys just want to write authentic Canadian stories - eh!
Will Arnett said it so well. "Gord made it cool to be Canadian". Fully Completely was clearly the record that put them on the map, roadside tour, here we come. Let's just say playing after Midnight Oil at the time was no easy feat but Gord was a theatrical storyteller like no other, this was obvious.
Part 3
This part starts off in 1993 with Dan Akroyd introducing the boys on Saturday Night Live - how cool 😎. "No Dress Rehearsal" came alive in that house in Bath, Ontario, their very own production house. After having his daughter, Gordie decided he wanted to get a little serious and "Bobcagean" came alive #constellations. The band begins to have a few bumps along the road after Gord moves to Toronto with a solo album and some creative energy being blown in different directions, but you could feel that they would eventually get through it. Jake Gold took the fall for the dysfunction. Time for a new manager. The band that just seemed like a bunch of good buddies had to address their issues and bam, Gord gets a diagnosis.
Part 4
The band needs to reconnect, Fort Albany helps bring them together and the "Fully Completely" tour seems to cement the band back together in a great way. Gord gets the bad news, it's incurable. The best friends pull together and Gord wants to do one more tour.
So, let's make it happen - Say goodbye! This is simply beautiful and sad and incredible and inspiring on so many levels. Their last concert was the second most watched television event in Canadian history and brought spotlight to the horrors of the residential schools in Canada. This became Gord's legacy and his way of giving back.
They bring back the pit bull. Thank you Jake for the reco.

Unraveling the World of Product Labels!
Are you scratching your head and wondering, “What are labels?” Well, you’ve clicked on the right link! Product labels are more than just pretty stickers—they're the trusty guides that help you make informed choices while shopping. Think of them as the friendly narrators of a product’s story, providing essential details like brand names, ingredient lists, and even a barcode or two (because who doesn’t love a good scan?). A well-crafted label not only helps you dodge allergic reactions but also keeps companies on their toes, protecting them from mix-ups and counterfeits.
Now, let’s break down the fun world of labels! First up, we have pressure-sensitive labels—the champions of convenience that stick when you apply pressure, perfect for everything from food items to shipping labels. Then there are shrink sleeves, which fit like a glove around cans and bottles, and they’re water-resistant, making them ideal for those humid days. If you’re looking for cost-effectiveness, cut-and-stack labels are the way to go; printed in large sheets and cut down to size, they’re a favorite among food and cosmetic brands. Want something that’s truly committed? In-mould labels are fused right into the packaging, ensuring they stick around (literally), and you’ll often find them on ice cream tubs and yogurt cups.
Let’s not forget about brand labels—the visual identity of your favorite products, showcasing logos and designs that make you remember that delicious snack! On the other hand, descriptive labels deliver all the vital info you need in a straightforward manner, like ingredients and warnings. If you’re curious about quality, grade labels tell you how a product measures up against standards, while promotional labels add a splash of excitement with messages like “Limited Time Offer” to grab your attention.
With so many label options, picking the right one can feel like a daunting task. But fear not! Integr8 is here to help you navigate this labeling adventure. Check out our online catalog for label printers that suit all your needs, plus a treasure trove of office supplies to boost your productivity.
