FRANKIE’S FAVOURITE EATERIES

Library Room at the Faena
Sunday night and you find yourself in Miami. Here is your plan.
Put on your sexiest Cub Argentinean outfit and head to the sultriest lounge on the East Coast.
This room is full of cougar print, velvet, feather, and deep, deep colours. It screams of the days when you walked into a room and expected to see Elvis or Dean Martin there, much like Delilah feels in Vegas and Carbone does in Miami.
If you’re lucky, Liset Alea will be singing on stage with her band, and you’ll be in for a treat.
Sit down and order the dumplings filled with sauerkraut and mushroom, much like Babcia’s filling. Have the mini sliders and a cheese plate.
Grab a Negroni, then switch to a white wine after that.
Find a dance partner, sing along, and wait for the DJ to finish off the perfect Sunday night.
Enjoy.
TECH SPOTLIGHT

For years, the unofficial way to search Reddit was to Google your question and tack “Reddit” onto the end. But that might finally be changing.
After investing heavily in its search tools (and sprinkling in some AI), Reddit is seeing a 30% year-over-year jump in weekly search users. According to CEO Steve Huffman, search is now one of the platform’s biggest drivers for both attracting new users and keeping existing ones coming back.
And honestly, it makes sense. Whether you’re researching a big purchase, looking for brutally honest reviews, or trying to solve a weirdly specific problem at 2 a.m., Reddit has quietly become the place for real opinions. In fact, the company says 84% of shoppers feel more confident after using Reddit for research — which explains why it’s now experimenting with product placements inside search results.
The platform itself is also growing fast, with nearly 500 million weekly users and rising international traction, thanks in part to features like machine translation across 30+ languages.
So yes, Reddit is still chaotic. Yes, you might still end up deep in a thread you never meant to open. But for once, finding what you’re looking for might actually be the easy part.
The real question is: are we ready for a world where Reddit search replaces “Google + Reddit”? 👀
REAL ESTATE SPOTLIGHT

A friend asked me where to stay in the south of France if I was looking for something not so famous. In Antibes I would stay at La Baie doree.

And in St Tropez I would stay at Epi Baie de Pampelone, Ramatuelle.

100 WEEKS OF POSITIVE MESSAGES
Frankie did 100 days of positive messages 3 years ago. He wanted to center them around mental health and positivity. We will post them each week for 100 weeks.

“I am one of those people that can look at a map and get you from one place to another very easily.
I am quite bad at most things but I would say I am very good with faces, directions and jokes. Oh yeah, maybe also eating, I'm very good at eating.
Generally I prefer not looking at the GPS route to get places using signs and a map instead.
Most cities for me are a breeze, except Paris. I can never quite get that city right, but what a great city to get lost in, no ?
I love the idea of discovering a new way home, finding a place that nobody knew about or seeing something different.
I am not suggesting this is for everyone.
Some people love routine and love direct routes, fastest routes etc. but for me, I love the idea of new and fresh. If it takes me 10 more minutes to get somewhere, I don't mind. Half the fun is the drive.
From time to time we all need to let go of our inner control freak and let someone else take control of the wheel for a bit.
How crazy is that ? Can you do it ?
Beep beep !
I hope you have a wonderful Saturday and enjoy the route less travelled.
Todays category is "on the map"

🧠A Weekly Dose of Psychology You Didn’t Know You Needed 🧠
Hi everyone! I’m Maya, I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Psychology (basically, I can analyze both a crime scene and your overly complicated coffee order). I’m also a Master of Arts candidate in Counselling Psychology, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about how the human brain works, and why it sometimes does the exact opposite of what we want it to do.
Psych Fact #46: Your brain remembers how things felt more than what actually happened.
When you look back on an experience, your brain doesn’t replay it moment by moment. Instead, it zooms in on two key things: the most intense moment and the ending. Psychologists call this the peak-end rule.
That means a long day, event, or even a trip can be remembered as great or terrible based on just a few standout moments, not the whole experience.
For example, if something ended on a positive note, your brain is more likely to label the entire experience as good, even if parts of it were stressful. On the flip side, one bad ending can overshadow an otherwise great time.
The interesting part is that this doesn’t just affect memories, it shapes future decisions. Your brain uses those highlights to decide what you want to do again or avoid.
So if you want to leave a lasting impression, focus on the moments that matter most… and how things end.
Until next time,
Maya 🧠✨

CHRIS’ CORNER

Joining a Team has Many Benefits
I’ve played lots of sports in my lifetime, likely soccer and basketball the most. Though I do enjoy individual sports like tennis and golf, the team sports are the most fun for so many reasons.
Of course, the obvious healthy lifestyle, physical exercise of playing a sport is a big benefit – especially if you’re like me and it’s hard to be motivated to work out without trying to score goals or points. I have so much respect for those athletes who can self-start workouts with determined consistency and push themselves to the next level.
However, there is also the mental and emotional benefits of being social, making new friends, hanging out with the team, chasing those common goals on the field or court or ice, and bonding over whichever sport you choose to play.

Some of my favourite people in the world I met through playing sports, especially soccer, where our love of being at the pitch created instant camaraderie and understanding. This happens in all sports all over the world to athletes and participants big and small of all ages.
In the summer, it’s baseball or soccer for many people as the teams are bigger, which means more chance to meet new people as well as having plenty of subs when you’re not quite in shape. In the winter, its hockey, or an even better option for us 40-plus crowd is curling. Curling Clubs are well known for their post-game gathering with beverages and food and laughs.
Still, doubles tennis or that weird pickleball thing can have a great social atmosphere as well. Another racquet sport growing in popularity for it’s mix of physical and social benefits is padel. It’s a game my old friend D.J. has been playing in Mexico for years, and recently buddies like Super Frankie have been playing on courts closer to home.
I was just telling my other good buddy Ted that I may have to take up padel next winter since it looks so interesting. And of course, I’m looking forward to playing soccer with some old friends and making new ones this summer.
Those are a bunch of good options for anyone looking to get involved in a sport for the many benefits. Just pick one you like – or think you like – and sign up! You’ll be happy you did.
That’s it for me, thanks for reading! Ciao for Now!
