Do fine dining dinners belong in strip plazas and malls?
Welcome to Florida—where the answer is a confident yes.
From Bal Harbour to Brickell to Aventura, the mall isn’t just for shopping anymore—it’s a legit dining destination. While the family racks up steps (and receipts), you can sneak off and have a meal that actually delivers.
Today’s stop: Bella Luna at Aventura Mall.
On the walk to the table, you already know you’re in for something good—pasta dishes that look straight out of a high-end Italian kitchen, plates that could easily hold their own against the big names, and yes… even a few that would make Woodbridge proud 😉
I keep it (somewhat) light:
Lentil soup — absolute knockout
Chopped salad — upgraded with onions (game changer)
Fresh bread — dangerously good (three pieces in, I waved the white flag and sent it away)
The verdict? Florida gets it. Even in a mall, you’re eating well.
Bonus moment of the day:
Sitting next to me at lunch was a guy who looked exactly like Lee Trevino. I had to ask. He laughed, said he gets it all the time—and even signed an autograph in an airport once. Not him… but convincing enough to fool a few people (including me).
After heading back into the mall, I realized something… the Lee Trevino look is very popular around here 😂
And when the weather turns or you’re not in the mood for another movie, these spots double as the perfect pit stop—grab a great meal, take a lap, pretend you’re just “walking it off.”
Now I’m off to find the kids… and see if I can escape without buying anything.
Wish me luck 🍀;)

Apple quietly drops AirPods Max 2 — and they’re smarter than ever
In classic “blink and you’ll miss it” fashion, Apple has quietly unveiled the long-awaited successor to its premium headphones: the AirPods Max 2. The new over-ear headphones arrive nearly six years after the original AirPods Max debuted, bringing a fresh batch of features aimed at both audiophiles and everyday listeners.
Priced at $549, the new model packs the audio-focused Apple H2 chip, improved sound quality, and a notable boost to active noise cancellation — which Apple says is up to 1.5× more effective than the previous version. The headphones also introduce Adaptive Audio, automatically balancing noise cancellation and transparency depending on what’s happening around you. Walking down a busy street? They’ll let more outside sound in. Settling into a quiet flight? They’ll block it out.
One of the most interesting additions is live translation, which helps people communicate across languages during in-person conversations. Add in voice isolation for clearer calls, improved Spatial Audio, and even a quirky feature that lets you trigger your iPhone camera using the Digital Crown, and these headphones start to feel like a mini tech hub for your ears.
The AirPods Max 2 will be available for preorder on March 25 in five colors — midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue — with global availability beginning early next month.
For Apple fans, it’s another reminder that sometimes the biggest product launches happen with almost no warning at all. 🎧

“I have wasted my day if I haven't had a little fun.
Remember the ones who make you laugh and who make you smile, those are the special ones.
I have a few people in my life that can brighten my day even with a little meme. I Love you

Thank you to the fun ones, the silly ones and the crazy ones.

🧠A Weekly Dose of Psychology You Didn’t Know You Needed 🧠
Hi everyone! I’m Maya, I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Psychology (basically, I can analyze both a crime scene and your overly complicated coffee order). I’m also an incoming Master of Arts candidate in Counselling Psychology, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about how the human brain works, and why it sometimes does the exact opposite of what we want it to do.
Psych Fact #38: Your brain practices conversations you never actually have.
Ever caught yourself replaying a conversation in your head or planning exactly what you’d say in a situation that hasn’t even happened yet? That’s not random. Your brain is literally simulating social interactions.
This mental rehearsal is your brain’s way of preparing for uncertainty. By running through different versions of a conversation, it’s trying to predict outcomes, reduce risk, and help you feel more in control.
The interesting part is that your brain doesn’t always distinguish between imagined and real practice. So even these “fake” conversations can shape your confidence, your emotional reactions, and how you actually show up when the moment happens.
That said, there’s a fine line. A little rehearsal can be helpful. Too much can turn into overthinking, where your brain keeps searching for the “perfect” outcome that doesn’t exist.
So if you’ve ever mentally argued with someone who isn’t even there, don’t worry. Your brain just likes to be prepared… sometimes a little too prepared.
Until next time,
Maya 🧠✨
